Kicking Horse Kabins Terms and Conditions – a COVID-19 update (1st June 2020)
We have an update to our usual Terms and Conditions, for any reservations made directly with us, whilst travel restrictions are in place. We are living in very difficult times, and you may have already planned, or are looking to plan your summer getaway.
Therefore, whilst Canadian Government travel restrictions are in place, for cancellation of direct reservations made before 1st April 2020, we will offer a credit note against monies paid, valid for 24 months, less an administration fee.
For reservations made after 1st April, the current deposit required during the COVID-19 situation, would be a payment equal to one nights accommodation, exclusive of tax. If travel restrictions are still in place 60 days prior to your arrival, and you are advised to, or not able to travel because of COVID-19, then a credit voucher will be issued, less an administration fee. The balance of your accommodation would not apply.
Cancellations of less than 60 days prior to arrival because of COVID-19, our normal terms and conditions will apply and no travel credit will be available.
If travel restrictions have been lifted for domestic or international travel, then our standard Terms and Conditions of Booking apply (see below), and this COVID-19 update will be superceded.

STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RESERVATIONS
Please email us to request a full copy of the reservation policies, but in summary, the key points are:
Check In and Check Out:
The Lodge - check in from 3pm, check out by 11am
The Kabin - check in from 4pm, check out by 10am
Confirmation of Booking and Deposit:
A deposit of one night or 25% of the total reservation cost, whichever is the greater at time of making the reservation. The balance can usually be paid on arrival/during stay. Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover in case of cancellation (see cancellation policy below). For reservations of less than 30 days in advance of stay, 100% is applicable at time of making the booking.
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are non refundable, unless otherwise agreed. If cancellation is received with less than 28 days notice, unless an alternative reservation is taken for the same period and value of the original booking, 100% of the accommodation charge is applicable. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing. Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover in case of cancellation.
Couples and Two Bedroom Rate (The Lodge only)
If the booking is under our stated occupancy rates (ie two bedroom/four person rate), there is a restriction in the number of bedrooms that are to be used for the stay. For full details on the reduced occupancy/bedroom rate, please request a copy of the full terms and conditions of booking.
Guest Sleeping Capacity and Rate Information
The Lodge has a maximum capacity of 8 guests. The Kabin has a maximum capacity of 4 guests. At not time must there be more than 8 persons in The Lodge (unless they are registered guests of The Kabin), at any time without consent. Unregistered guests, without approval, would incur an additional charge. Force Majeure
Refunds are not applicable in circumstances such as power outages, highway closures or other events beyond our control. Please ensure you have adequate insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances for cancellation.
Quiet Time
We maintain a quiet and peaceful property. Please keep noise to a minimum at all times, so that others are not disturbed. We have a strict quiet time of 11pm. If guests are using the hot tub, fire pit or gardens in general, then the noise levels must be kept to a level where it cannot disturb others. We reserve the right to ask guests to leave the property if this is not adhered to.
Pet Policy
Well behaved and house trained dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. Pets are now allowed on the furniture or beds and must be kept under control/leashed at all times when in the main garden areas. Our full pet policy is detailed in our terms and conditions of booking.
Security Deposit
Whilst a security deposit is not necessarily required for each reservation (see below), a valid credit card is required for each guest stay.
For groups of over 6, or guests with pets, a $300 security deposit is required.
If any damage is caused to the hot tub or any other equipment/furniture both inside and outside the properties, then a minimum $500 charge would apply and will be automatically applied to the main credit card used to secure the reservation.
We do not charge a cleaning fee, however a minimum $100 charge will be made for excessive cleaning that arises from extraordinary cleaning, over and above a typical guest stay.
